I would like to make you all aware of an opportunity I am involve with. Cultural Property Protection 4 All (CPP4ALL) has recently been approved as a funded COST Action: https://www.cost.eu/cost-actions/what-are-cost-actions/ OR https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Cooperation_in_Science_and_Technology#COST_Actions
See: https://www.cost.eu/actions/CA24119/
Scholars and researchers with expertise and interest in this field who come from COST member countries [1], near neighbour countries [2], plus a couple other countries [3] (see [4] if you are from another country), are welcome to join any of the following working groups:
– International conventions, EU regulations and national legislation: bridging the gaps
– Illegal archaeological excavations: a technological challenge
– Provenance and traceability
– Education, training, and capacity building
– Dissemination and Communication
Membership in these working groups comes with no personal obligation, only opportunity to participate in fully-funded conferences, workshops, and other events related to this topic. It is having the option for a seat at the table.
Also, up to two researchers per member state may join the Management Committee of the action, and anyone interested should signal that interest on the form. There is particular interest in having Early Career Researchers (current PhD or post PhD and under 40 years old) and researchers from Near Neighbour Countries involved in this action.
In sharing this invite, I do want to point out that while COST is quite inclusive, this is an opportunity specifically for scholars, academic researchers (including current PhD students) and experts , who are actively working in this or parallel fields.
Once again, to join the Action and join some working groups, please visit: https://www.cost.eu/actions/CA24119/ and on the left hand side of the page click “Apply to join your Working Groups of interest”. You will need to make a COST profile and fill out some information about your experience and interest.
Meanwhile, sometime soon I’ll have another opportunities list out to you all.

[1] Albania, Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, The Netherlands, The Republic of North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, Ukraine.
[2] Algeria, Azerbaijan, Egypt, The Faroe Islands, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, and Tunisia.
[3] Israel and South Africa
[4] Researchers and scholars from other countries than those listed are able to join COST actions, however they are ineligible for reimbursement for participation expenses. What does that mean? Well someone from the Netherlands would have their travel, hotel, and per diem expenses paid to a COST event, but someone from Canada would not. The Canadian would still be allowed to attend and participate, but it would have to be at their own expense.
