3. Monuments Men and Their Legacy, Public Lecture, Greenburg, PA

Louis Rorimer will speak about his father’s work with the Monuments Men during WWII. His father, James Rorimer, was a former director of the Met Museum and is depicted in the film Monuments Men by Matt Damon.

4. The Monuments Women, Lecture, Truro, Nova Scotia

Dr. Kirrily Freeman will talk about Capt. Edith Standen and her work to safeguard artworks in Europe during WWII. Wasn’t just “Men”, folks.

5. Crimes Against Heritage: Risk and Protection (Crims contra el Patrimoni. Riscos i protecció), Seminar, Girona, Spain

6. Fight Against The Illicit Traffic in Cultural Goods (Lucha contra el Tráfico Ilícito de Bienes Culturales), Meeting, Madrid, Spain

This is the 4th professional meeting on the topic organised by the Office for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and will focus on the Spanish penal code as it relates to the protection of cultural goods. Thanks to David Casares for letting me know about this.
