1. Issues in Provenance Research Symposium, Cleveland

Looks like an interesting free event if you are in Ohio.

“This symposium will look at the issues of provenance research and due diligence from the perspectives of four different spheres within the art world: independent research/consulting, museums, auction houses and the legal field. A representative from each area will speak about issues relating to provenance within the context of his or her own experience.”

When: 24 October 2015
Where: Recital Hall, Cleveland Museum

2. Rights and Relationships: Key Legal Issues for Artists, Workshop, NYC

What do you do if your work is copied or appropriated? Artists are victims of art crime, they should know the legal landscape of their field. This free workshop led by artist and arts lawyer Sergio Muñoz Sarmiento seems like a ‘must-attend’ for anyone creating art. The other free workshops offered seem interesting as well.

When: 14 October 2015
Where: Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Office, 125 Maiden Lane
