“ICOM Documentation invites proposals for its 2026 international conference, hosted by the AfricaMuseum in Tervuren, Belgium. The 2026 conference theme asks how museum documentation has been shaped by the contexts in which it was produced, and how it can be rethought for more open, accountable and collaborative futures.”

Art x Law Intensive, Short Course, Zurich, Switzerland

The Center for Art Law is offering this intensive short course that “will focus on the legal issues relevant to visual artists, gallerists, collectors, and museums. The intensive course lectures will review the basics of and examine the current state of relevant contract and property law, address provenance and restitution issues as well as copyright and fair use questions.”

Cultural Property Protection in Crisis Response, Hybrid Online and Torino, Master’s Programme, Italy

“The Master in “Cultural Property Protection in Crisis Response” is aimed at strengthening the international efforts and enhancing cooperation to face emerging challenges towards the protection of cultural heritage from conflicts, illicit activities, natural disasters and climate change impact, and for enhancing the social and economic recovery capacity of the affected communities.”

Rubicon fellowship for provenance research, Fellowship, Amsterdam

“During the fellowship, a researcher can, in close collaboration with the other members of the research team, investigate the provenance history of part of the archaeological collection of the Allard Pierson. This could include, for example, objects from a specific area, a specific material category, or a sub-collection acquired from a private collector. The collection of the Allard Pierson should expressly be the starting point of this fellowship, but the fellow is free to expand the provenance research to the transnational trade networks of antiquities.” Good command of Dutch required.

Cultural Heritage Protection Coordinator, Job, Paris

An 18 month job in ICOM’s Heritage Protection Department, the “main mission will be to ensure the coordination of cultural heritage protection projects, in particular projects related to the fight against illicit trafficking of cultural goods and emergency actions (in case of accident of natural disasters).” Must be able to work in English and/or Spanish, and French also an advantage.
